Thank you for visiting our new Internet Site for American Legion Post 266 located in sunny Sarasota, Florida. Check back often as updates can happen daily. We are making an effort to include new features as soon as possible.
Take a look around and relax for a while.
I would like to tanhk everyone who came out and participated in our officers installation, it went well, and the dinner afterward was fantastic. It won't be long before we start our outside events again, so keep an eye out, and come and join us.
I would like to hit on membership, we are right at 50%, so if you have not yet renewed, please do so as soon as possible. We will once again be having our Early Bird Dinner on Nov. 27th, so renew your dues and come out and attend the dinner. We have fallen short of our 100% goal the last couple of years and I am hoping for us to reach that goal this year.
As always, I would like to thank all the volunteers that make all our dinners and events a great success. On that note, we are always looking for new volunteers, it seems it's always the same few doing the work, so if you are able, and would like to get involved, you are more than welcome. Other that that keep an eye out for our upcoming events, and please come out and support them.
For God and Country,
Ron Neipert, Commander
First of all, thank you to Tammy Richardson for serving as our President during the past years. Tammy will be serving as our First Vice, this year, and I am looking forward to being your President.
I would like to thank all who donated and bowled for Community Haven bowling tournament between the Legion and the Eagles. We had Seventy-Eight bowlers. It was a great success, thanks to all the volunteers. Without all the volunteers, these events could not happen.
Our 2011 cards are here. So, stop by and pay those dues, ladies, and get your Early Bird stamp. Our yearly dues will be increasing to twenty five dollars next year and juniors will be three dollars.
We will be having an appreciation dinner in September and an October Fest. So, check your newsletter for the dates and times. You can also check out our events online at www.ampost266.net. The site has all the upcoming events. We will continue out Friday Night dinners, and we are always looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen or to cook their favorite dinner.
I am looking for some ladies to take some chairmanships this year. You don't have to be an officer to be a chairman. So ladies, if you have any interest, just let me know. We have a workshop on September 11, 2010, at Post 266. I will be attending with some of my officers, and anyone else that would like to attend.
If any Auxiliary members have any ideas to help our organization, please attend one of our meetings. Our next meeting is Monday, September 13th, at 6:00PM. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting, and I am looking forward to another great year.
For God and Country,
Tammy Richardson, President
I would like to thank all our members for a great year, and look forward to another. Our 2010-2011 Officers have been sworn in, and are ready to make things happen.
Please mark your calendars for November 13th - our annual S.A.L. Turkey Shoot. This event is something we all enjoy doing, so we look forward to seeing you there.
In closing, we all know what time of year it is: annual dues are due. Please take a moment and stop in for your new card.
For God and Country,
Alan King Jr., Commander
